Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. warmly welcomed the 2011 World President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), who paid him a visit at the House of Representatives.

Sen. Kentaro Harada of Japan is presently in the country to discuss mutual concerns between Junior Chamber International and the government of the Philippines.

Harada's visit is aimed at promoting the JCI Mission and inspiring action among JCI members, JCI organizations, heads of state and community and corporate leaders.

Harada believed that young people must lead the world to sustainable peace through the citizen's initiative, in which individual citizens rather than nations take action to achieve human security and the UN Millenium Development Goals.

Junior Chamber International Philippines better known as Philippine Jaycees, Inc., founded in 1947, is an affiliate of Junior Chamber International (JCI), Worlwide Federation of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs.

Its mission is to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, social responsibility and fellowship necessary to create positive change.

Among the past JCI World Presidents is Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. who presided in 1976.

Also present during the courtesy call were Junior Chamber International Philippines 2011 National President Sen. Bernard Faustino Dy, 2010 National President Sen. Manuel Van Torrevillas, 2007 National President Sen.

Glenn Santos, 2011 National Executive Vice-President Sen. Randolf Ivan Ruste, 2011 National Secretary General Sen. Christine Garcia, Mr. Tony Kudera, staff, Junior Chamber International Executive Vice-President Sen. Dennis Cunanan, Mr. Shogo Ikeda, Personal Assistant to the JCI World President and House Members led by Reps. Alfredo Garbin, Jr. (PL-AKO BICOL), Gabriel Luis Quisumbing (6th District, Cebu), Mark Llandro Mendoza (4th District, Batangas), Joseph Victor Ejercito (Lone District, San Juan), Dakila Carlo Cua (Lone District, Qurino), Jorge "Bolet" Banal (3rd District, Quezon City) and Rodolfo Fariñas (1st District, Ilocos Norte).
