Here are the 10 laws passed by the 17th Congress that you should know about
The 17th Congress, which has just opened its second regular session last month, has now enacted 10 bills into law.
Foremost in the laws enacted during their first regular session was the 2017 General Appropriations Act or the national budget, followed by three other laws: the postponement of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections and the extension of the franchises of Smart Communications and GMA Network.
Just recently, President Duterte signed six frontliner bills into law namely the Anti-Hospital Deposit Law, Free Tuition Act, extension of drivers’ license validity to five years, Free Public Wifi Access, and the Extension of passport validity to 10 years
The inclusion of casinos as among the institutions covered by the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) was also signed by the President last July.
