Martha Joy plays the heroine.Kaos is one of the best musical spectacles to hit Manila shores.

The show is quite remarkable as it has the elements of both Broadway musical and Las Vegas live shows all rolled into one.

A world-class production with magnificent set pieces is making its run at the spanking Newport Performing Arts Theater that is home to Resort World Manila’s first exclusive production, Kaos.
The story takes place in a medieval setting where a prince searches for his one and only true love. Although it sounds like a cliché, the love story promises to be an engaging experience for both young and old as the musical acts are interspersed seamlessly with death defying stunts, acrobatic performances and magical acts.

The storyline of Kaos revolved around a Prince’s search for happiness that can only come from true love. The royal Advisor calls on fair princesses from different realms, who put on fantastic displays of music, dance, magic and acrobatics to win the Prince’s heart.  But the Prince remains unmoved. He peers into a magic mirror and sees the woman of his dreams – a beautiful Maiden from the future. The magic mirror transports him, and he finally meets his true love in a place and time filled with dazzling people and breathtaking wonders.

Kaos features celebrated actors in the leading roles. Livewire singer and theatre actor Gian Magdangal plays the valiant prince, with half-Pinay “Canadian Idol” standout Martha Joy playing the heroine.  Veteran stage performer Joel Trinidad exceptionally plays the role of the scheming Adviser.

The three thespians lead a strong cast that captivates audiences with their performances of well-loved songs, with no less than the Manila Symphony Orchestra providing the musical score.

Adding excitement to the show is Spanish master illusionist Enrique Polo who performs together with his world-renown animal performers – Kaos the white lion, Sito the white tiger and Betty the yellow tiger.

Acrobatic performances from the “Power Duo,” a world renowned act from Belarus, and the “Defying Gravity” acrobatic troupe from China keep viewers awed with their display of riveting performances.

The Spanish stunt motorcyclists are also sure to make the audience’s heart pumping with their excellent display of precision riding inside the “Cycle of Life.”

Meanwhile, the Colombian performers in the “Human Time Machine” will surely keep the audience at the edge of their seats as they display superb balance and synchronization while running around two suspended rings.

Giving more energy to the show are the Hip-Hop dance champions “Philippine All Stars” who strut their winning moves.

Kaos’ astonishing styles of music and dance, ranging from the original musical genre to the modern forms, as well as thrilling acrobatics straight from Vegas are simply breathtaking.

Audiences can watch Kaos six times weekly from Wednesday to Sundays at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. The 1,500-seat theater boasts of the largest LED wall ever built in the Philippines, as well as state-of-the-art lights and sounds technology.  This ultra-modern performance venue is part of Resorts World Manila. – Article courtesy of Manila Bulletin
