Inspired by summer travel, clothing brand Penshoppe this season channels the jetset lifestyle for its latest collection. “This summer, we’re taking our style to a higher level with interesting cuts, silhouettes and fabrics that look stylish in any setting,” says Jasper Evangelista, Penshoppe vice-president for brand management.
Muted yet cool hues of grays, dreamy blues, stark whites, and sandy browns dominate, inspired by picturesque beach landscapes of summer. Maxi dresses, trousers, and lightweight blazers reflect the brand’s jetsetter approach to summer style.
The collection’s stylized concept was inspired by the Filipino’s travel lifestyle may it be at the beach or in the city. “We want our pieces to be able to transport our clients’ wardrobe from the city to their favorite summer destination without breaking the bank,” says Penshoppe brand director Alex Mendoza. “We want to position our brand as stylish casual wear that is still affordable and functional.”
However, in spite of the brand’s new jet-set chic approach, Mendoza quips that the designs are not intimidating, “It’s still very basic and easy to wear. We have separate pieces that can be mixed and matched and can be worn for day and night.”
Brand ambassador, Bea Soriano —who recently shot a summer ad campaign for Penshoppe at the Misibis Bay Resort together with fellow ambassadors, —shares that versatile clothes can take you anywhere as long as you know how to style.
“You can take a simple outfit from city slicker to seaside chic with just a bit of tweaking. Throw on a blazer over a shirt and shorts for a polished look, ditch wearing shorts and sport a bikini and wrap-around combo when hitting the beach, or do a timeless ensemble by donning a striped boat-neck top and breezy trousers,” she adds. -
