Do you ever wonder how many sex scandals come out in a year? And can you ever recall a time that sex scandals involving famous personalities and celebrities went unnoticed and unpublicized? To the mind and eye’s imagination, watching and feasting over these sex scandals could be very pleasurable, but to the families, friends of the actors and actresses and to the involved parties, this could be a nightmare that they would have to live with forever.

For the past few years, from the famous Katrina Halili-Hayden Kho scandal, to the much publicized sex video of Mo Twister and Rhian Ramos, and the downright foul and inhumane spread of the sex video between Ramgen Revilla and Janelle Manahon, sex scandals have never failed to catch the attention of mainstream news, and more importantly, these scandals never seem to escape the consciousness of the general public, more so, social media enthusiasts.

And to say that it cannot happen to an ordinary young person is extremely false, especially if he/she has misguided principles and beliefs about adolescence and growing up. And trust me; there are a lot of trouble young people out there that aren’t aware of the possible ramifications of their actions. It can happen to anyone, and it can happen to you- unless you realize this early that it is wrong and it is dangerous.

Fact! Social media isn’t exclusive to famous personalities and celebrities alone, and as long as there is always a social media public craving for something new and exciting, you shouldn’t be complacent, especially if you’ve uploaded your own sex video in your laptop or pc. Hackers are everywhere, and never trust a curious mind- not a friend and not even a family member (just ask Genelyn Magsaysay’s family).

It doesn’t take a celebrity or a famous personality for the unforgiving social media republic, especially perverts, to feast on carnal pleasure, and it doesn’t take a celebrity to generate social media noise nowadays. True, it may not come out as publicized as those involving famous personalities, but it inflicts an equally stinging damage and impact to one’s life and to one’s environment- one’s family, friends and network.

Perhaps, the blow can be more telling to an ordinary folk, considering the capacity of an ordinary person to handle intrigue or controversy, against the tolerance of famous personalities/celebrities when it comes to these issues. Famous personalities are trained to handle issues because they understand that being public is part of their job. Ordinary people are not accustomed to their lives being feasted upon by the public, and being involved in controversies is not part of their everyday living, nor is it part of their job or something that they have to take in.

Wait! May you be a celebrity or an ordinary person, what’s the point of downloading your own sex video, or even having it recorded? And how does it relate to love or even commitment?

If you love someone, you shouldn’t put his/her reputation at risk. If you truly are committed to someone, you should feel secure about the relationship and need not to record this form of intimacy to blackmail your partner. If you are in the right frame of mind, you shouldn’t be even thinking of having your sexual activity recorded.

This act just doesn’t say about your respect for your partner or for your relationship. It also speaks of how sane your relationship is with yourself.

Yes, you may boast of a great physique that you can expose to just about anyone, but can you boast of a personal dignity and reputation after this video gets uploaded and seen by just about everyone.

Down the line, your kids, your granddaughter will suffer immensely because of this one time stupidity. Can you take it, that your kid will ask you if you were the one he/she saw in this sex video? The more glaring question perhaps would be- How will you exercise moral authority over your family who will continuously question your dignity and integrity as a person?

So before you even record your own sex video, even before you even entertain the idea of saving the file to your laptop, think again.

You don’t need this kind of memorabilia, this piece of history, if this will destroy you as a person, and if this will destroy your life, now and forever- may you be a celebrity, personality or a simple living ordinary person.
