‘Act Fast or I Will Replace You’ – PRRD to Government Officials

PRRD in his address, urged the DOH to act fast on the cash assistance promised to health workers. He updated the country, through the head of various governmental agencies, regarding the status of the government assistance and as reported, everything is under control.

Addressing the nation, June 5, PRRD urged the Department of Health (DOH) to act fast on their mandate, especially on the cash assistance promised to health workers, because if the department would continue to act slow, the President would not hesitate to replace people in the department as “there are so many well-intentioned and well-meaning doctors who wants to serve the government and contribute to humanity”, he said.

PRRD also addressed the delivery of assistance to the indigents. Asking the departments of the mechanism of how they distribute the assistance for the indigent sector of our population, he assured that if the departments need anything or any assistance, the President would help. 

On the orchestration of the Filipino repatriates, Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. assured that there is a clear system from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) attaché in the origin country to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) which coordinates the transport of the repatriates. Task group is also present in the airport under Usec. Cesar Yano, who administers the government’s one-stop-shop.

PRRD on the distribution of cash assistance to poor households, Secretary Eduardo Año updated that the distribution of cash assistance is smooth, that they are adopting online systems for easier transfer, and that the tracing and filing of cases for corrupt local officials are currently in progress.

PRRD also advised the public not to fall for scams online. In this time of hardship, there are various scammers lurking and that the public must be vigilant and be more cautious. 


Concluding his speech, PRRD congratulates the Philippine National Police (PNP) for still working their best despite the pandemic. As the President said, “you have my snappy salute”. He also reminded the public to still observe health standards and wear a mask.
