VP Robredo's speech during the 42nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo
In a time when global markets are more accessible and interconnected than ever before, where does the Philippines fit in the sphere of global competition and opportunities?
Answers to that question were sought by distinguished individuals from the business sector, international community, and policy makers who spoke in front of close to 1000 delegates from the member-chambers of Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Industry (PCCI) nationwide, diplomatic corps, business and industry captains, and counterpart chambers from the United States, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh during the 42nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo. PCCI, the country’s biggest umbrella organization of small and medium-sized businesses, hosted the said event which was held in Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City.
One of the notable guests who graced the event was Vice President Leonor G. Robredo who opened the event with a speech which centered on the crucial role of investors in alleviating poverty in the country. A transcript of her full speech is provided below.
